The name “Urbis” refers to the city-like landscape created inside the tree through destructive forces. This piece focuses on the “hinge”, the part of the tree that is not cut through when felling. The “hinge” is created to control the direction of the fall.  Its uncut fibers are ripped apart through the leveraging of the falling tree, producing a prophetic image of the wood’s final destination.
