"Incus" is Latin for "anvil" which refers to its overall form with its flat top and cantilevered arm extending from a massive base. The final form is the intersection of the tree by a √5:1:1 rectangular prism. Two of these pieces were commissioned for placement in Martha Van Rensselaer Hall in the College of Human Ecology at Cornell University.
